Dynamically uniting the seemingly contradictory elements of "Leading-edge" and "finesse" through "Seamless Anticipation" of customer needs and desires is central to the Lexus design philosophy. Smart Key System   The Smart Entry & Start System recognises the Electronic Key (with integrated mechanical key) when you approach and allows you access to the car without taking out the key. The car is ready to start by simply pressing the brake pedal and pushing the engine switch. Adaptive Front-Lighting System   The low beam discharge headlamps (Hyper-wide) emit a high quantity of light and distribute it in a wider pattern, especially in the area in front of the vehicle, for excellent visibility. Intelligent AFS (Adaptive Front-Lighting System) automatically moves the irradiation axis of the discharge headlamp (Hyper-wide) to the left or right in response to the turning angle of the tyres and vehicle speed, optimising visibility when cornering. Together with an auto-levelling function which keeps the irradiation axix constant, they contribute to safe driving at night. Rain-Sensing Wipers   The GS is available with intuitive wipers that automatically activate at the first drop of rain, so you never have to worry about turning them on. They're triggered by a sensor in the windshield glass, which detects water and adjusts wiper speed to the amount of rainfall. Variable intermittent wipers are standard. Power Moonroof   The GS features an available power tilt-and-slide moonroof with an auto open-and-close feature and sliding sunshade. Body   The beauty of the smooth flowing exterior is the fulfilment of the functional desire to reduce wind noise by creating a flush surface body with a minimum of protrusions.
